Black LDPE Irrigation Pipe
LDPE pipe is often used to create drip feed irrigation systems, it is more rigid than flexi pipe and has a thinner wall.
Use
LDPE pipe is popular for installing irrigation for raised beds and in greenhouses, for this we would normally use 4mm insert nipples and 4mm flexi pipe to connect to the dripper of your choice.
LDPE pipe is also used with high pressure drippers, especially with rockwool or coco slab systems.
For both of the above we would use a high pressure hole punch to make a small hole in the LDPE pipe then the insert nipple or high pressure dripper line can be pushed into the hole.
Sizing
Irrigation pipework and fittings can be confusing to size at first, some manufacturers quote external diameters but most quote internal diameters. to avoid confusion we size pipework by the fitting size that the pipe accepts.
